Just a week after Halloween, the fun returns with Austin’s own Fun Fun Fun Fest. Four stages of performances, each themed so you can wander around for an eclectic mix or pick your favorite and jam all fest long.

  • The Black stage is the metal/rock stage, reaching its zenith with an appearance by Judas Priest, with awesome rockers like Blood Brothers, Twin Peaks, and Deafheaven as well.
  • The Blue stage features rap and hip-hop, with huge names like Ginuwine, Wiz Khalifa, and 2 Chainz headlining and acts like Thundercat and Run the Jewels rocking out beside
  • The Orange stage brings new meaning to the word ‘alternative,’ mixing and matching an astonishing array of acts from Yo La Tengo and Modest Mouse to Sun Kil Moon and This Will Destroy You.
  • The Yellow stage is the spoken art area, that swings from (ok, mostly) comedy to (a bit of) the instructional, informative, controversial, and bizarre. Come in Friday afternoon to see a completely improvised Ted Talk, Saturday morning for a professional Yoga class, or Sunday evening for the awesome comedy of Kumail Nanjiani (Franklin & Bash, Silicon Valley).Boots For Fun Fun Fun Fest

Allens Boots is just a bit south of Auditorium Shores where the FFF Fest is goin’ down, so we figured we’d have a little fun and show off the ‘boots of choice’ for each of the Fun Fun Fun Fest’s four performance platforms.

Black Stage: The black Marya boots by Old Gringo, bring Texas and rock and roll together in a perfect black fusion of spiky style and mud-stomping goodness. Pair it up with anything from your favorite ironic poodle skirt to Brit-punk studded black leathers, and you’re good to mosh.

Blue Stage: The Russian blue Vegas boots by Liberty Black, are straight-up dancing boots, with a tassel-y fringe that will accentuate every move of your feet (and every jerk of your twerk). Blend ‘em in with some classic blue jeans or show ‘em off with a booty skirt and bust a move.

Orange Stage: The mango-and-brass Villa boots by Old Gringo, have a distinct ‘these boots are made for kicking’ vibe that will look sassy swirling to the Spider Bags and put people in need of First Aid Kit. Anything from a batik broomstick to some denim Daisy Dukes will set these bad girls up for the show.

Yellow Stage: The sand Buffalo boots by Lucchese, show a unique understated style and fun-girl flair that’s perfect for laughing it up at the yellow stage. Set ‘em off with a bright sundress or have them peeking out from under the season’s trendiest flowy pants, and you’ve got a surefire winner.

Fun Fun Fun Fest is rapidly becoming one of Austin’s favorite cultural occasions; embrace it by dressing the part, and enjoy the brief respite between candy and stuffing by rocking out with some of the best Austin has to offer.
